The CM9 is a semi-automatic pistol with typical Kahr design. Its cartridge was introduced to the market together with the Luger semi-automatic pistol which were first adopted by the German Navy in 1904. The German Army adopted this cartridge in 1908. This cartridge has since 1908 been adopted by the military of nearly each non-Communist power. The CM9 has become the most popular and also widely-used handgun cartridge.
The way of the performance of the 9mm Luger cartridge has a bit more power than the .38 Special cartridge, however falls well short of the .357 Magnum. Its frame has a bit aggressive checkering on the front and also backstrap, that allows the shooter a more sure grip when firing. Its frame and also the grip are quite thin. This model differs from the previous model by having traditional rifling rather than the PM9 polygonal rifling, a change which greatly reduces cost without sacrificing accuracy. This model weighs in at only about 14 ounces, however its built to be extremely durable.
